Yann Courté

Photographer and filmmaker based in the south of France, whose work is rooted in the experience of place and movement. I work in series, approaching the field with openness and curiosity while embracing a subjective perspective.

Since the mid-2010s, I have gradually moved away from a long career in corporate and institutional work to develop an authorial body of work centred on the relationship between people and the places they inhabit, between the collective organisation of territory and our individual relationship to intimate space.

I do not approach my work as a neutral observer, but with a sustained attention to the ways human presence shapes its surroundings, and, in turn, ourselves.
